The first games jam that I carried out during my second year on the course saw me work to a brief set by Falmouth University, this brief set out that I must create a piece of art, this could have been any form, digital, interactive and physical. I chose to adopt an interactive / video form games jam, I created the experience and then recorded a video of me walking through the experience showing off my creation. This games jam had a week deadline and so the planning, research and development was stripped back in order to aid the development process.

The brief was apart of a competition, this competition was to be within a chance of winning £250 for an area of my art form. During this games jam I carried out planning order for me to be able to successfully understand the brief and interpret the brief in order to ensure that my experience met the brief of the jam. The two documents that I created were an asset list and also mood board. The mood board allowed me to gather ideas for my experience and also helped me to create my experience as I was able to use the images as a starting point. Here is my mood board.

The second document that I created was an asset list, this asset list detailed all of the assets that I would need for the experience and showed the status of the development for each asset to help me track the progress of the project. Without this asset list I would not have been able to successfully carry out the creation of my assets as I would not have had the reference images or details to create my assets. In addition, the asset list was extremely important at ensuring all of my assets had been completed for the games jam. Here is my asset list below.

Before starting to plan my games jam I started by filling out a document detailing the specifics of the project and the outcome that I intended to create, I also detailed on the document how my outcome would meet the brief of the games jam. Here is the document that showed my idea and took a deep dive into the main details of my idea.

After completing all of the planning and documents, I started to design and develop my games jam outcome in Unreal Engine 5. Here is my final outcome and I will detail how I feel that it met the brief of the games jam.
Firstly as you can see in the attached video of my outcome you can see that I have stuck to my planning as I have included all of the assets and ideas from them. I feel that this has met the brief exactly as I have adopted a brighter future and designed an environment that is environmentally sustainable, many wind turbines, solar panels, waterways and foliage can be seen in the scene. In addition to this, I feel that this has met the brief because I have envisioned a utopian society that actually cares for the environment and also its inhabitants.
Overall, I am happy with the outcome of this games jam and I feel that this outcome has been the most fun to create so far as I had creative freedom over the way that I completed develop and also the idea that I created, as we normally work to tight briefs. So I feel that my outcome has met the brief and I will now be sending the outcome to be entered into the competition.
