Initial Idea Generation
During the idea generation task of the project I carried out two generation documents one independent document detailing one idea for this project and also the group idea generation document that shows the final idea that we decided to settle with. In the idea generation I had to consider the genre and theming of the game, as we are restricted to FPS and Horror I made sure that my idea stuck within these constraints, also the group idea also fits within the constraints of the project.
Who is the character: The character is a junior paranormal investigator
Why have they been put there: They are called to a person's mansion which is dilapidated and overgrown, it is a trap. They are called to this house because of reports of strange behaviour and need to find the source of the outbreak of parasite that slowly paralyses people around the area, they have been offered this opportunity as part of training.
How is it resolved: It is resolved once the player defeats the house owner and the shadow beasts in the house and finds the source of the outbreak, stopping it.
Where is it set: It is set in a dilapidated mansion, the world is full of vegetation, mould and also paranormal organisms. It is dark, cold and the corridors are not empty. Only natural sounds will be present such as wind, water, pipes etc to enhance the horror. Shadows of strange figures are seen throughout the house and many item pickups are present implementing the FPS component.
